Public Relations/Hospitals and Institutions Subcommittee

We are members of Narcotics Anonymous and members of the We Do Recover Online Area’s H&I/PR Subcommittee. H&I meetings are specifically for hospitals and institutions. They bring the NA message of recovery into places where people can’t easily get to outside meetings—like jails, rehabs, detoxes, and other facilities. We are not doctors, lawyers, or counselors. We are not paid to be there, and we have no opinion on the facilities or their practices. We’re there to carry a message of hope and share our experience with recovery in Narcotics Anonymous. If they hear nothing else we say, let them hear this: go to a meeting the day you get out.

Our Public Relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion. In public, we are examples of the recovering addict, as we may be the only Basic Text people see. We do this through PR Presentations, Public Facing Events, and Learning Days.

We meet on the 3^rd Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM CT
